Mr. Adebayo Opabunmi
Doctoral Researcher, University of Science and Technology of China, China.
Biography
Currently, I am a PhD student at the Laboratory of Cellular Dynamics, University of Science and Technology of China. But earlier, I worked for 6 years as a Research Assistant in the College of Health Sciences of Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria, before leaving for the pharmaceutical industry. The increased incidence of pancreatic cancer (PC) in diabetic populations recently observed in repeated epidemiologic studies with a relative risk that ranges from 1.5 to 2.0, coupled with the reported projection of it likely to be the second leading cause of adult cancer mortality by 2030, attracted me to this field of molecular oncology research. I aspire to make a mark in history, by contributing immensely to identifying related PC genes and understanding their complex trait and mutation; to further facilitate the understanding of biochemical cascades and molecular etiology of PC, as well as the discovery of putative protein targets of therapeutic interests.
