Biography :
Prof. Tan is the deputy director of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the director of the Guangdong Key Laboratory of Energy Conversion. In 1989, he obtained a PhD in Physics from Chinese Academy of Sciences. He then taught at the University of Science and Technology of China. From 1994 to 2018, he received PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Then, he entered the industry to study dielectric ceramics and polymers, energy storage materials, and filtration membrane technology for 20 years. He has published 120 papers and 60 issued patents.
