Biography :

Jean-Louis ADRIEN is currently Professor Emeritus at the Institute of Psychology at the Université Paris Cité (since 2015), where he previously served as Professor of Child Psychopathology (1995–2015). He was the founding director of the Laboratory of Psychopathology and Health Processes (UR4057), of which he remains a member, and is notably the creator of the professional degree program "Support for Individuals with Autism." He has supervised 25 doctoral theses in psychology focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children, covering topics such as early signs of ASD, intervention strategies, and the evaluation of their effects on child development and behavior. He worked as a clinical psychologist in the child psychiatry department at the Bretonneau University Hospital in Tours (1974–2002), during which time he was also part of an INSERM research team dedicated to autism. Author of the test Cognitive and Socio-Emotional Assessment Battery (BECS, Pearson-ECPA, 2007), designed for evaluating children with ASD and now for adults with ASD and severe Intellectual Disability, he has conducted numerous scientific studies using this tool. Since 2016, he has been the founder and director of the training institute Centre de Formation et de Recherche Autisme (CeFoRA®: www.cefora-adrien.fr), entirely dedicated to training programs on ASD.
