Biography :

Dr. Kymberly Williams is a public health educator, researcher, and health promotion professional committed to improving community health through education, advocacy, and evidence-based practice. She holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), a Master of Public Health (MPH), and a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Williams serves as a Lecturer in Health Sciences at Gordon State College, where she teaches undergraduate courses in public health and health science. Her teaching emphasizes real-world application, critical thinking, health equity, disease prevention, and preparing students to become informed and compassionate health professionals. Prior to entering higher education, she worked as a Health Educator with the Fulton County Board of Health, supporting HIV and sexually transmitted infection prevention and education efforts across multiple communities. Her doctoral research examined the impact of social determinants of health on alcohol use among older African American adults, with particular attention to economic stability, family support, religious engagement, racial discrimination, and neighborhood environments. Dr. Williams is passionate about bridging academia and community health practice. Her professional mission is to educate with purpose, advocate for health, inspire future leaders, and create lasting impact in the communities she serves. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Williams values quality time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking dinner with her four children and hiking up Stone Mountain on the weekends. These moments reflect her appreciation for family, wellness, and staying connected to the community around her.
