Amir Shahirinia (S’05–M’14) has received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Electrical Engineering. He has also performed postdoctoral studies with the Power Electronics group at Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradly). He is currently an Assistant Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington D.C. He is the director of the Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy (CERE) and the Smart Grid and Robotics laboratory director at UDC.
