Prof. Choi Hee-jung

Biography :
Prof. Choi Hee-jung is the Head Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Catholic Kwandong University, South Korea. She earned her highest degree from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, and has established an internationally recognized research career in environmental and biomedical sciences. Her research focuses on the development of lignocellulose-based bioadsorbents, heavy metal and algae removal using natural materials, resource recovery technologies, and hydrogen liquefaction storage and safety infrastructure. Prof. Choi has authored more than 120 national and international research papers and holds over 30 patents in environmental engineering, biomass utilization, and water treatment technologies. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Minister of Education Commendation and multiple Outstanding Research Faculty Awards. She actively contributes to several academic societies, serving in editorial and leadership roles. In addition, she provides technical expertise to government agencies and public institutions on environmental management, water resources, and sustainable technology development. Her work continues to advance innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and resource recovery.
