
Biography :
Masoud Haddad is a PhD and project researcher at the University of Vaasa, Finland, specializing in AI-driven methods for enhancing energy efficiency and reducing electricity consumption in buildings. His current research focuses on leveraging real-world sensor data from Finnish school buildings to develop data-driven control strategies for HVAC systems and indoor air quality optimization. Masoud also has a strong background in simulation-based research, having transitioned TRNSYS environments from rule-based to AI-based control through a Python interface, with a related paper currently under review. Prior to his work in Finland, he spent 2.5 years as a research assistant in Istanbul, Türkiye, where he published four Q1 journal papers in the field of building energy systems and AI applications.
