Hamza Ahmed

Junior Clinical Fellow, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, UK

Biography :

My name is Dr Hamza Ahmed. I graduated from University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan in 2020. I worked as a House Officer and a Medical Officer in Pakistan while preparing for my PLAB examinations and on the path to getting my GMC registration. Once I got my registration, I moved to the UK in 2022. Since then, I have worked in Spinal surgery for six months as a Junior Clinical Fellow in Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester. Currently, I am rotating in Trauma and Orthopaedics department in the same trust for another six months. My work revolves around managing and being part of the wards, on-calls, emergency department, operating theatres, and the research/audit team. In addition to this, I have a passion for teaching and have been involved in teaching Applied surgery and Anatomy to university students in Pakistan, along with setting up regional teaching programmes in the country. Being an IMG here in the UK, adaptation into this system is one of my biggest strengths, and I intend to learn something new every day and discover something new every day on my path of becoming a Trauma and Orthopaedics consultant in the future. Outside medicine, I am fond of cricket, football, music and writing.
