His expertise in pharmaceutical chemistry and molecular modeling, backed by more than 217 patents—including 10 U.S. patents on a new class of adaptive, dynamic drugs—and over 500 publications, has revolutionized antiviral treatment by addressing the limitations of static drugs. His pioneering research on self-assembling oligopeptides highlights nanotechnology’s potential for resistance-proof therapies, earning him the Nikola Tesla Gold Medal.
