Mehmet Erkan USTU

Biography :

I was born in Istanbul on 31.07.1963. I completed my primary, secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College and was accepted to Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. I graduated in 1986 with the 4th rank. In 1987, I started my neurosurgery specialization at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine İbn-i Sina Hospital. During and after my specialization, I worked twice for a total of 4 months with Prof. Diemath at the University Hospital in Salzburg, Austria. I completed my specialization in 1992 and worked at Tarsus State Hospital until 1996, when I went to do my compulsory service. In 1996, I started working as an assistant professor at Selçuk University, Department of Neurosurgery due to available positions. I became an associate professor on 19.11.2002. In 2006, I ranked first among the faculty associate professors by receiving the highest score in the evaluation of publications in journals registered in SCI and the citations made to them. I became a professor in 2009. I have around 50 international research publications.
