Dr. Rui Sérgio Monteiro de Barros graduated in medicine from UFPA (1983) and earned a master's and doctorate in orthopedics and traumatology from UFRJ (1989 and 1994). He completed his post-doctoral studies at UFPA in 2022. Fellowship in Hand Surgery from the University of Louisville, USA, 1992. Adjunct Professor 4 UEPA. President 2025 of the Brazilian Society of Hand Surgery. Full Member of SBCM of SBOT, International Member of ASSH, and AANA. Academic at the Academy of Medicine of Pará. Coordinator of the Medical Residency in Hand Surgery at UEPA-Porto Dias. Professor of the Professional Master's Degree in Experimental Surgery—UEPA. Area of expertise: Hand and Shoulder Surgery, Microsurgery. Researcher in the area of vascular and peripheral nerve microsurgery. Coordinator of the Research Ethics Committee at Hospital Porto Dias.
