Biography :

Dr. Henricksen, a Utah native, earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He further specialized in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine through a Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Additionally, he holds an MS-HPEd degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Henricksen serves as a Professor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics’ Division of Critical Care in the University of Utah Health system. Concurrently, he is the Medical Director of the Intermountain Health Simulation Consortium. To improve patient safety and quality care initiatives, Dr. Henricksen's academic pursuits encompass demonstrating the value of simulation in healthcare. His specific objectives include refining educational and team training, honing procedural techniques, fostering relationship management skills, instilling leadership and communication proficiency, and nurturing a culture of high reliability and psychological safety within hospital settings. Dr. Henricksen views the integration of simulation as instrumental in transforming healthcare organizations into dynamic and reliable learning institutions.
