Biography :
Valentina Hlebec is a Slovenian sociologist and professor at the University of Ljubljana, specifically at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Professor Hlebec’s work lies at the intersection of sociology, social network analysis, welfare studies, sociology of ageing and care, and social methodology. A major applied domain of her research is ageing and care systems. Key topics include informal vs. formal care systems, long-term care organization, social exclusion among older adults, community care systems and, determinants of homecare usage.
