Biography :
Dr. Khym Isaac De Barros, a Visiting Assistant Professor at the American University of Sharjah, holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Multicultural Counseling from Indiana University. She has taught at a number of Universities in the U.S.A. For more than 25 years, she has provided counseling and served as the Director of University Counseling and Development, implementing programs like Grief Resolution, Let’s Talk and Minding Your Mental Health. Her research focuses on mood disorders, interpersonal relationships, the help-seeking behaviors of cross-cultural groups and the psychotherapy process. Dr. De Barros’ work is published in Counseling American Minorities and in Women and Therapy.
