Prof. Xiang Wu

Ningbo University, China
, Resident physician of hepatobiliary surgery department of Li Huili Ningbo Medical Center

Biography :

His clinical and research expertise focuses on innovative surgical techniques and biomaterial applications in abdominal surgery. With a strong background in both clinical practice and biomedical engineering, he is dedicated to advancing minimally invasive and adhesion-reducing strategies in hepatobiliary-pancreatic procedures.

As a surgeon-scientist, He has contributed to high-impact research, including the development of a bioinspired adhesive patch for abdominal surgeries (Materials Today Bio, IF: 8.7), which he was honored to present as an oral presentation at an international conference. His work spans surgical material design (e.g., Janus hydrogels, hemostatic agents) and translational cancer research, demonstrating his interdisciplinary approach to improving patient outcomes.

Combining hands-on surgical experience with academic innovation, he bridges the gap between the operating room and the laboratory. His research reflects a commitment to solving clinical challenges through engineering solutions, making him a rising figure in the field of surgical biomaterials and hepatobiliary-pancreatic medicine.
