Biography :

Fahad Mujawar is a forward-thinking researcher and practitioner in the fields of integrated optics, machine learning, and quantum photonics. With a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications, complemented by a minor in Management from PES University, Bangalore, Fahad has consistently demonstrated his expertise and innovative approach to solving complex problems in photonics and optics. Currently, Fahad is transitioning to pursue his Master’s in the prestigious field of Data Science at the University of Nottingham, starting in September 2024. His academic and research journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing the boundaries of optical technologies and photonics. Fahad has made significant contributions to the scientific community through his published works and presentations. One of his notable publications is "Use of Multilayer Perceptron Classifier for Determination of Single Mode Operation in Rib Waveguides," which was presented at the FIO Laser and Optics Conference 2023. This study introduced an efficient Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) neural network architecture for classifying single-mode operation in Rib waveguides, characterized by varying refractive indices, wavelengths, and geometrical parameters. The MLP model achieved remarkable accuracy of approximately 90%, while also offering rapid computational performance. This work highlights Fahad’s adeptness in blending machine learning techniques with photonics to solve intricate problems. In another pioneering paper, Fahad explored a novel integration of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) with Holey meta-lenses. VCSELs, known for their perpendicular beam emission, were combined with Holey meta-lenses—optical components that leverage engineered nanostructures to manipulate the light phase profile. This innovative approach achieved unprecedented resolution surpassing classical optics and demonstrated a focusing efficiency of around 66% at a wavelength of 1310 nm with a full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of ~1000 nm. This groundbreaking work is a testament to Fahad’s role in pushing the frontiers of integrated optics and laser technologies, with future research poised to delve into far-field focusing dynamics. Beyond his research, Fahad has also contributed as a trainer at Rooman Technologies in Belgaum, where he has imparted his knowledge in the latest technologies to aspiring learners. This role underscores his dedication to education and mentorship, fostering the next generation of innovators in technology and science.
