Biography :
Dr. Mrinal Kanti Mukherjee, presently a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Geology of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, is a structural geologist whose research interests are focussed on working out the geometry, kinematics, dynamics and history of deformation structures in rocks at all scales and their applications in deciphering evolution of deformed terrains, mineral & hydrocarbon exploration and geological engineering. His work on deformation scenario of the Paleo-Mesoproterozoic sedimentary cover of Kaladgi basin earned him the International Best Research Paper award in the 4th Annual International Conference on Geological and Earth Sciences (GEOS) in 2015 held at Singapore.
