
Biography :
Prof. Guy Petherbridge is an environmental scientist, conservation specialist, and researcher with extensive international experience in nature conservation, sustainable development, cultural heritage management, and environmental policy. He serves as Director of the Caspian Centre for Nature Conservation at the Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development, Dagestan State University, where he coordinates multidisciplinary research and conservation initiatives across the Caspian region. His work focuses on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management, climate change impacts, environmental monitoring, and the protection of endangered species, particularly within the Caspian Sea ecosystem. Throughout his career, Prof. Petherbridge has held leadership roles in international heritage and conservation programs, including positions associated with UNESCO initiatives and academic institutions. His research spans environmental sustainability, conservation biology, cultural landscapes, and community-based resource management. He has authored numerous scientific publications on Caspian ecology, avian influenza surveillance, marine conservation, and sustainable development. His current work promotes regional cooperation in environmental protection and ecological research, contributing significantly to the understanding and preservation of the unique natural and cultural heritage of the Caspian region.
