Biography :
Dr. Evangelia Papakonstanti is Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete, Greece, where she leads research on cell signalling in cancer and metastasis. Previously, she was Senior Researcher at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, London. Her work focuses on oncogenic signalling pathways, including PI3K-mediated mechanisms, and on the molecular and cellular processes driving tumour growth and metastatic progression. Using preclinical models, her group investigates interactions between cancer cells and the tumour microenvironment and develops rational combination therapies targeting both compartments to identify more effective strategies for preventing cancer progression.
