Biography :
Dr. Astrid D. Oviedo, PhD, LLB, RN, CNE, is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke's McKenzie-Elliot School of Nursing. A Faculty Spirit Award recipient, she is recognized for her teaching excellence by her students. Her work centers on mammogram adherence, cancer health literacy, and cultural factors influencing screening behaviors among Filipino American women. Her legal background expands her research into legal aspects of nursing practice. She is currently conducting research on the impact of AI in nursing education.
