Assoc Prof Dr Krit Somnuk

Biography :

Assoc.Prof.Dr.Krit Somnuk currently works at The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Prince of Songkla University. He received the B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D. from Prince of Songkla University in 2004, 2008, and 2013, respectively. He serves as Vice Director for Research and Innovation, Oil Palm and Palm Oil Research and Innovation Institute (OPPORI) and Director of Energy of Research Center (ETRC), Prince of Songkla University. His current research is focused on the application of using ultrasonic and hydrodynamic cavitation in biodiesel production from high free fatty acid crude palm oil. His research has been recognized by many international awards including a Gold Prize (2013, Korea), Bronze Prize (2017, Korea), International Invention Fair, Silver Medal Award, 43rd International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (2015, Switzerland), and The Best Research Award, International Research Awards on New Science Inventions, NESIN Awards (2021). He has also been awarded the many national awards of The winner of New Inventors Camp (2013), The Honor Award of Invention (2014), Ph.D. Thesis Award (2014), The first runner-up of New Inventors (2017), The Honor Award of Invention (2018), and The Honor Award of Research Work Award (2019) by National Research Council of Thailand.
