Chiara Filippini

Biography :

Chiara Filippini is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy. She graduated in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna. Subsequently, in 2020, she obtained her Ph.D. in the frame of Innovative Ph.D. (PON RI 2014-2020), in Neuroscience and Imaging. During her Ph.D. she was a visiting scholar at Brain and Language Laboratory of Gallaudet University in Washington DC, USA. Her main research area is neuroimaging using non-invasive techniques, in particular the study and modeling of the interaction between human and artificial agents, such as social robots or virtual humans. Aimed to increase the ability of the artificial agent to recognize and process the psychophysiological or cognitive state of the human interlocutor. Techniques and methodologies used are thermal infrared imaging, functional near-infrared spectroscopy, artificial intelligence, and deep learning implementation
