Prof. Elise Moss

Mechanical Design Engineer, USA

Biography :

Mechanical Design Engineer, San Jose, California, United States.
Elise spent her childhood taking apart her Barbie dolls to see how the joints worked, the method used to fasten the hair to the head, and investigating the plastic material reactions under different environmental stresses , such as heat, cold, and being submerged in sand, oil, water, paint, mud, and clay. While her sisters failed to appreciate her early research - especially when their dolls were drafted into service - mechanical engineering was an obvious career choice. Her BSME is from San Jose State University. Elise's first CAD software was AutoCAD in the early '80s and her current software of choice is SolidWorks. She taught Revit and SolidWorks at Laney College in Oakland for more than a decade and achieved Professor Emeritus status. She currently is an adjunct lecturer at Santa Clara University in the Civil Engineering Department, teaching AutoCAD. For fun, she sits in front of a high-powered CAD workstation and designs electro-mechanical enclosures . She now tortures different materials using computer simulation - not as messy, but just as entertaining as those early experiments with her Barbie dolls.
