Biography :
A chemical engineer with over 30 years experience in environmental, remediation, and process engineering, developing cost effective, in-situ remediation approaches, treatability testing, design and implementation, feasibility studies and remediation action plans. Experience includes working for two international environmental consulting firms, developing new business, managing clients, and implementing innovative remediation technologies in the US, Europe, and Australia.
Lead engineer on the following remediation developments in Australia:
1. The development and application of a biodegradable cleaning agent for the removal of PFAS from piping and tank systems.
2. Design and operation of the first wastewater foam fractionation treatment system to remove PFAS from domestic and industrial wastewater.
3. Development and application of in-situ soil mixing for the treatment of chlorinated hydrocarbons and PFAS.
4. Treatment of concrete to mitigate PFAS leachability.
5. The first Cryogenic Compression Condensation System in Australia for the recovery of chlorinated solvents at a site in Penrith, NSW;
6. The application of High Resolution Vertical Profiling (CPT, MIP, LIF) to collect the detailed data for design of in-situ applications;
7. In-situ geochemical fixation of metals, in particular arsenic, chromium, and lead;
8. The first application of Modified Fenton’s Reagent in Australia for cost-effective and efficient in-situ chemical oxidation, at a service station site in Woy Woy, NSW.
