Dr. Fahimeh Zare

Biography :

Fahimeh Zare is a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, under the supervision of Professor Maria Clara Gonçalves. She holds a BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering from Shiraz University and Iran University of Science and Technology, respectively. Her doctoral research focuses on the integration of biocompatible magnetic nanoplatforms and monophasic hybrid membranes for the regeneration of spent dialysate in hemodialysis systems. She has published several peer-reviewed papers in Membranes, Sensors, and International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, and has presented her work at international conferences across Europe, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France. She is also involved in the EU-funded PHOTONGATE project (HORIZON-CL4-2022), where she develops sol–gel-based photonic thin films for multi-sensing applications. Her main research interests include membrane engineering, nanomaterials, sol–gel processing, thin film coating, hydrogen energy, separation processes, and biomedical technologies.
