Dr. Amar Alwitry

Biography :

Mr Amar Alwitry is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and anterior segment surgeon with a particular interest in surgical patient safety. He holds a Masters in Medical Law and is the author of the textbook Complaints, Litigation and Clinical Errors. As a medico-legal expert he has assessed more than thirty cases of serious ocular injury arising from cannula detachment. His peer-reviewed research on the prevalence and health-economic burden of this complication has been published in the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery and Eye (London)
